Celtic will be getting a Shane Duffy who should be up to speed by the time Saturday rolls around; the defender is playing his third consecutive game for Ireland and captain’s his side against Bulgaria on Wednesday evening.

Duffy has found the going tough for club and country as of late but has spoken about being mentally tough and coming out the other end of things.

The Irishman went from not playing much at all to playing two or three games a week for Celtic and he’s not been at his best.

There will be no excuses going forward, the big man needs to get his head down and do the simple things right if he wants to play in this Celtic side.

The Irish camp has been hit with a few call-offs in recent days but Duffy has managed to dodge self-isolation or contacting the virus to this point.

Celtic have a massive game on Sunday and if Ajer is not fit enough, there’s a good chance Duffy could start the game.

Christopher Jullien is returning from a back injury after two months out and could see game time; the Celtic manager is usually reluctant to throw players straight back in after a long absence.

Nir Bitton who plays for Israel against Scotland tonight will likely be one of the centre-backs for Celtic at Easter Road.
