SHANE DUFFY is out with the Ireland squad at the moment but he felt compelled to weigh in on the current situation in England with regards to non-televised games coming at a £15 PPV cost to fans who have already shelled out for a season ticket AND Sky Sports as well as BT Sports.

Some are hitting out with the logic it would cost more to go to the match, but of course it would. Going to a game and revelling in the atmosphere, pregame rituals and whatever else fans like to do before and after a game is part of AN overall package plenty are happy to shell out for even though the prices have shot through the roof.

However, being asked to spend £15 a game for extra on top of what’s happening already is a mindless cash grab.

A Brighton supporter sent an image to Shane Duffy which used his loan deal with Celtic to make a point about the £15 fee but Shane Duffy made sure they knew it was wide of the mark.

Many thought Celtic were only picking up some of the defender’s wages but in reality, they have taken on his entire wage for the season. No word if Shane has taken a lower wage to come to Celtic, but he very well may have. The Celtic star, however,  did disagree with the £15 fee pricing.

  1. The ordinary fans are being taken for a ride as usual, most of us cannot afford to pay out to sky sports bt sports premier sports and ppv to other clubs channels! Disgusting way to treat us especially in the current climate, and as a shareholder i’m annoyed at our club not doing more to help the best supporters in the world. HAIL HAIL.
