Shane Duffy has agreed a deal to join Celtic but the club have yet to confirm the deal.

As we await on the official confirmation, more details on the deal have emerged through SunSport.

The defender was sought after from a couple of Premier League teams who wanted to buy him permanently this summer and who were also offering big wages. The defender made a personal plea to Brighton to make the Celtic deal happen and the seaside club obliged because the player has been a model professional since joining the club – becoming a cult figure in the process.

The loan fee for Celtic is reported to be between £1.5m-£2m and the club will be covering over 50% of Shane’s wages – around £25kpw of his £45k deal.

The Irishman arrived in Bulgaria late on Tuesday night after getting the deal done away from Glasgow, the Scottish champions are likely going to make sure they have an interview in the can and social media announcement ready to go. Celtic are likely to announce the deal today.
