SHAUN MALONEY has sent a warning to Celtic that they should already have their plans in place for next season.

After watching his old club get dumped out of the Scottish Cup, the Belgium coach made it clear Celtic need to be making moves now in order to claw back some of the ground lost this season quickly.

Dominic McKay is in the door this morning and he can start to wrap his head around things but he’s only one piece of the puzzle.

We need a DoF and a manager quickly.

While Celtic are right to make sure they get the best men for the job, it’s incredible we’ve not had any sort of announcement to this point.

Speaking on Sportscene on Sunday evening, Maloney told viewers Celtic don’t have the luxury of time.

“It’s difficult to judge from the outside but I think with the new chief executive coming in, and that being brought forward, it feels that they are trying to accelerate the process.

“They have to really because next season’s planning should already be done.

“The technical director, the coach, these things are linked. The director has to be linked with whoever the head coach is. I think the process has to begin pretty quickly.”

Surely the club can’t take much longer at getting the new setup in place.

Our season is over, there nothing left to play for. Let’s get things done.

It will be worrying if we get to the end of this week and there has still been no announcement.

  1. The wee man is right, the Hoops are in the same position as the auld co before they became sevco. Strikers that have developed fanny fright, defenders who are scared to head a ball, or track the ball, on the move, in flight or on the ground, goalkeepers who think they are sweepers and flap at all shots. The management, who are in over their heads. Ohhh how we all laughed (on masse) at the forgiving of the auld co and their new counterparts.
Profit and charity come after intelligent and forwards thinking, entertaining football. Time for the Celtic directors and suits get real or get bent.
