It was a random transfer that not many people saw coming, but when Anthony Stokes moved to Tractor Sazi in Iran, the player hit the ground running.

He did so well in-fact he recently signed a new four-year deal with the club to prolong his stay in the country.

However, reports from Iran are now saying the Irishman has ripped up his contract and has left the club with immediate effect.

While the move was a strange one to start with the player seemed settled in recent months and regularly posted from the country showing how much of a good time he was having.

The striker was scoring for fun, and everything looked rosy but as strange as it all started it has ended pretty much the same way by the looks of things.

The report also claims former Killie man Lee Erwin has also left the club with immediate effect.

This is yet another upheaval for Stokes who was pushed out the door at Hibs before moving to Greece with Apollen Symrni but after four months in Greece the player went AWOL, and he then ended up Iran only for this to reportedly go down.

What next for the Irish star if these reports are accurate?
