HULL CITY have emerged as shock favourites to take hot Celtic prospect Lewis Morgan on loan for the rest of the season after the Tigers boss admitted he was interested in the attacking midfielder.

Nigel Adkins is trying his best to revamp his Hull side for the second half of the season. Hull currently sit mid-table in the Championship, but if they can get their act together, they are only 4 points off a playoff place.

When asked if Lewis Morgan was a target, the Hull gaffer dropped a significant hint.

“We’ve had a look at a lot of players in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and obviously, Lewis is one.” told SunSport.

“Celtic have brought two or three players in forward-wise.

He’s a young lad and did really well at his previous club but that wasn’t in the top level of Scottish football.

“Young lad, dynamic winger, he’s exciting to watch. Will that happen with us, will that happen with another football club?

“I’m sure his agent’s going to be working very hard to get him somewhere.”

Morgan has been officially at Celtic since the summer although the club signed him in the January window last year and loaned him back to St Mirren.

The young midfielder has failed to make the breakthrough yet, and Brendan Rodgers has implored Lewis to follow Ryan Christie’s example by going out on loan and getting valuable game time.

There’s no doubt Morgan is a talent, James Forrest has been keeping the player out of the team this season after a string of outstanding performances.

Hull looks like a very likely destination.
