There will be only one Celtic player starting for Scotland in Russia this evening and its probably the guy Celtic fans wished had the night off.

Callum McGregor takes his place in Steve Clarke’s team but the other Celtic bhoys have to settle for a place on the bench as the Scotland boss fields an experimental and strange side for the Euro qualifier.

Red card aside before the break – Ryan Christie has been one of Celtic’s best players – getting on the scoresheet more often that not but in a side who struggle for goals, Clarke has opted not to use the wee man.

James Forrest also left out of the starting XI.

Greg Taylor takes his place on the bench, the former Killie boy still to make his Celtic debut.

Scotland have been struggling as Clarke tries to find a winning formula through rather bizarre selections.
