Mikey Johnston has been linked with a loan move to Aberdeen before the end of the window on Sunday night by RecordSport.

By Monday afternoon the rumour looks short lived. Aberdeen have announced the signing of Vicente Besuijen – a Dutch youth international.

It would signal to us Mikey isn’t being considered by Aberdeen st the moment. While Vicente is a right sided winger he can play on the left and up front if needed.

How Celtic solve a problem like Mikey Johnston will be curious. A player with tons of potential who hasn’t been able to stay fit enough to kick on.

We also face the issue of being left short of Mikey does head out if Jota picks up another injury while international call ups are still happening.

Mikey needs game time and going out would signal to Celtic if his body can handle a run of games without breaking down.

Right now Mikey will be worried his days at Celtic might be numbered if he can’t prove himself.

  1. Had more than enough chances and has gone backwards, no point in keeping him any longer.

If Jota is injured we cant be rely on Johnston anyway, our squad is far too full of guys we dont need.

Bye bye Bolingoli, Barkas, Soro, Welsh, Johnston and probably a few more
