Our Facebook page lit up on Sunday night when we posted a video of Erik Sviatchenko sharing a special moment with his son watching the Celtic cup final win.

They captured the moment where Dad and son watched Kristoffer Ajer’s penalty hit the back of the net to both of their delight.

It was great to see Erik and his bhoy share the moment. Since leaving Celtic, Erik has kept in touch with Celtic and is now a supporter, as well as his family.

When supporters saw the video of the Danish defender cheering on the bhoys, some of them couldn’t help but comment we’d let him go too soon.

Erik was signed under Ronny Deila and was part of the invincible team under Brendan Rodgers. It was halfway through the invincible season when Erik would start getting less and less game time with the re-emergence of Dedryck Boyata in the side.

He was soon on a loan back to FC Midtjylland where he helped them win the league before signing a permanent deal that summer.
