It wouldn’t be a Celtic transfer window if we weren’t linked with a few players who were astronomically out of our price range when it comes to wages. Not to mention being linked with a player who is damaged goods at this point.
Daniel Sturridge has been released by Liverpool and is now a free agent and looking for a new club.
The only reason the media are reporting on the ‘link’ this morning is the bookies putting Celtic and The Rangers high up the list of clubs who could sign the striker this summer.
If anyone needs to be reminded, the bookies had Benitez to Celtic most of May.
Sturridge is no doubt a very talented striker and it would be a dream to have a player of his ilk at the club but his wages means it’s a no go and his injury problems mean even if we did decide to break the bank for him, it wouldn’t be a good idea!
Brendan Rodgers has been linked with bringing the player to Leicester also. The Irishman has already worked with Daniel at Liverpool.
It’s a no from us on this one!
