With Rangers expected to pick up the three points against Kilmarnock at Ibrox later on Sunday, Celtic will be looking to put themselves six points ahead with six to play for.

Coming off a resounding 3-0 win over Hearts, the mood in the Celtic camp is buoyant, especially after the performance that they put in on Saturday afternoon.

The anticipation for next week’s match at Celtic Park is palpable, with Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish weighing in on the significance of the upcoming clash. Writing in The Sunday Post, Dalglish highlighted the advantage of playing at home, with the support of 60,000 fans expected to play a crucial role in boosting Celtic’s odds. However, he also cautioned that this could become a double-edged sword if performance dips and the atmosphere turns tense.

King Kenny wrote: “The crunch match is on Saturday when they play against each other at Parkhead. That is going to be one helluva 90 minutes and the fans in the stadium and viewers at home are in for a treat.

“Home advantage will be massive and that has to make Celtic the favourites. With the backing of 60,000 supporters, it should make life easier for the Hoops and harder for the Gers. But it can also work against you if you are not playing well and the crowd gets restless. Rangers will try and unsettle their opponents and the fans.

Celtic will feel they can all but put the title race to bed with a victory. They’ve not lost to Gers this season and that is an impressive stat.”

With two derby wins and a draw already this season, Celtic will be the more confident of the two sides heading into the match, especially given the potential outcome.
