Celtic will head to the Highlands to take on Ross County on Saturday 6 August with a 3pm kick-off which is set to not be shown by Sky Sports.

Yesterday it was announced that matches away to Kilmarnock and Dundee United were to be changed to Sunday fixtures with 12pm kick-offs. As well as this, the first derby fixture of the season will be played on Saturday 3 September with a 12.30pm start.

Both Glasgow clubs do generally have the pick of their games broadcast by Sky Sports which is disproportionately unfair for other clubs in the league.

It was hoped that Scottish football was going to take a positive step forward and learn from the lessons of Covid by giving clubs the power to broadcast their games via Pay-per-view and benefit off it financially.

With life returning to some kind of normality in recent months, SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster confirmed in April that Scottish Premiership clubs were set to lose their rights to stream games live to supporters [The Herald].

With this in mind, many fans across the country will likely turn to streaming services which have been discouraged to watch their teams.

This is once again another example of the game being sold short in Scotland with clubs set to miss out on the extra revenue which they could have received had pay-per-view streaming continued.
