It’s being reported that talks between the SPFL and Sky Sports are at an advanced stage that would cut the amount of money involved in a clawback from the broadcaster and pave the way for a virtual season ticket.
Sky Sports are working with the SPFL to find a solution and major sources of revenue for clubs in the Premiership while there’s no fans allowed at football.
The plans to beam all games to season ticket holders across the country can only happen under certain circumstances and Sky would have a say in what would happen according to RecordSport.
With a lot of the Premier League clubs already signed up to the same streaming provider, it could be a very manageable way to let fans see their team and at the same time create some sore of revenue.
Some clubs matchday revenue counts for over 50% of their turnover, it can’t be underestimated how much help some of these clubs need until fans can come back into stadiums.
With early August the target, time is of the essence.
