SKY SPORTS have claimed Celtic’s bid for Ismaila Soro is not as concrete as it was made out by their manager this week and that Genk are now trying to steal the player with a late bid.

It was reported on Monday the player was getting set to move to the Scottish Champions

Soro’s current manager, Elisha Levy told RecordSport: “Ismaila Soro’s transfer deal to Celtic has been closed in principle and he is expected to leave in the near future. When I took this job I knew he was going, so this isn’t a surprise to me.

“It just means we will have to look for reinforcements in his position.

“Of course it will be difficult because Soro is an excellent player. He is clearly a big loss to the team and it will be up to me to find a good replacement for him.”

It just wouldn’t be a Celtic transfer window if everything went smoothly. Soro is a defensive midfielder and would add much-needed reinforcement in the middle of the park.

RecordSport and Soro’s manager both had the Celtic deal as good as done but Sky Sports are challenging that assertion.

The bhoys are still to announce Patryk Klimala as a Celtic player even though the player arrived in Glasgow on Sunday night.

Celtic fans all too aware of the delay in David Turnbull’s signing eventually meant the deal was scuppered due to a medical issue.

A transfer window for a Celtic fan is always a stressful affair. In January we want reinforcements, in the summer we’re fretting over losing our best players.
