It will be unsurprising to most but Andy Walker, who is the authoritative voice for Sky Sports viewers when it comes to Scottish football has backed the Ibrox club in their title bid.

The former Celtic player has burned his bridges with a lot of the Celtic support over the years with his negative commentary on his old club and this is just another in a long line of comments.

Andy sees the negative so much with Celtic.

Yes, the bhoys have dropped points in the last two games but no acknowledgment about their achievements to date or how Celtic have been there and done it – giving them the edge in any title race.

It was all about talking up Celtic’s Glasgow rivals.

“I don’t think we’re going to see many points given up by Celtic and Rangers. Admittedly, Celtic have followed up a draw with a defeat. I think they’re going to prove to be really debilitating in their quest for the title.” Walker told Sky Sports.

“If Alfredo Morelos and Jermaine Defoe steer clear of injury I think Rangers have every chance. I think from middle to front they’re creating chances.

“The response since losing to Celtic has been absolutely first class. And, make no doubt, the title race is going right to the end of the season.”

Celtic are two points behind in the league at the moment. The bhoys now face four of their next five SPFL fixtures at home and the current league leaders have to hit the road.

It’s going to be an interesting race but a challenge Andy should be pointing out that Celtic are up for.
