Former Celtic player and Sky Sports pundit, Davie Provan, believes Peter Lawwell isn’t currently short of offers for Odsonne Edouard and if it was any other season there would already be an auction going on for the striker.

However, Provan knows what’s at stake this season and believes if Lawwell did pull the trigger before the end of the transfer window – he would have to change his identity.

The ten in a row tilt as heightened emotions like never before. Everything we got worked up over in the past is now more anxiety-inducing than ever before. Celtic waiting 82 minutes to score a goal at Tannadice is enough to see some retire to their bed with exhaustion for the night.

Odsonne Edouard is pivotal to Celtic’s chances this term in all competitions. To sell the Frenchman this season would be to gamble everything we’ve worked towards for nine years.

Speaking in his SunSport column, the pundit made it clear Peter Lawwell would be public enemy number one, should Eddy move on:

“You can bet Peter Lawwell isn’t short of offers for Odsonne Edouard at the moment.

“In any other season, the Celt’s chief would have an auction going for the player. Not now.

“If Lawwell punted the striker, he’d need a change of identity and digs on St Kilda.”
