CELTIC are due to travel down under later this year to participate in the Sydney Super Cup. While in Australia, Postecoglou’s side was scheduled to play their rivals in a ‘friendly match’; however, the latest Sky Sports update details this is now in significant doubt.

It’s thought that the Ibrox club is looking to pull the plug.

Celtic are still expected to participate in the tournament, despite recent reports of the Rangers’ intentions to pull out.

This is what fans wanted in the first place. Fans desired the chance for Ange to take the team he has built down under while playing A-League teams but not our rivals.

Some feared that playing the Ibrox club in the friendly would waste the derby and become a laughing stock.

The Rangers will have to pay their way out of this; substantial fees will likely need to be coughed up with contracts signed.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens now, will there be another team added, or will it just remain as it was minus the Rangers?

  1. The Rangers not Rangers, and that’s exactly what he has written. For your info, De La, Sevco changed it’s name to “The Rangers” shortly after their first competitive game (first ever game?) with “The” having to be added as part of their official name because they are not allowed to call themselves “Rangers FC”, so methinks your being a bit hard on the scribe, to put it nicely.
