SKY SPORTS pundit Charlie Nicholas has backed his former side in this weekend’s Glasgow Derby tie!

The former Celtic player who isn’t shy about being negative when it comes to his old club believes they can virtually wrap up the league on Sunday.

Nicholas thinks Celtic will be up for the physical battle with Rangers* from the off and should be able to take advantage of a leggy Ibrox side after their Europa League match three days prior.

“Rangers might be up for a fight, but I also reckon Celtic will be prepared to battle their way to victory,” Nicholas told RecordSport.

“Celtic are tough, while Odsonne Edouard is a class act and Leigh Griffiths is scoring goals for fun.

“It’s hard for manager Neil Lennon to leave him out the starting XI.

“The fact Rangers are also coming off the back of a tough Europa League game against Bayer Leverkusen, I’d back Celtic to come away with a win and widen the gap at the top of the table.”

Celtic are thirteen points clear at the top of the table and closing in on nine in a row.

The bhoys could swagger out of Ibrox if they won knowing the league was all but over.

There’s also the incentive to right the wrong of the game in December when the bhoys lost 2-1 at home to Steven Gerrard’s men. The wild celebrations by the manager and the over-exuberant Ibrox commentator coming back to haunt them in a spectacular way.
