Kristoffer Ajer’s agent came out two weeks ago and dropped the bombshell his client was looking to leave after nine in a row.

The bhoys were getting set for a Glasgow Derby just before his comments and it was safe to say it wasn’t received well by the support.

Kristoffer Ajer is improving season on season but, I think I speak for many Celtic fans when we say the lad isn’t the finished article.

Kris has been brilliant but he still has raw edges which need to be rounded off. If there was any jumping off point for the defender I’d have imagined it would be after the potential ten.

Davie Provan used his SunSport column to suggest Ajer was getting ahead of himself.

IS Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer getting ahead of himself? Agent Tore Pedersen insists the 21-year-old won’t extend his contract and will leave Celtic this summer.

Of a possible move to England for the centre-back, former Hoops striker Harald Brattbakk said: “The money is a big issue.

“I heard Virgil van Dijk doubled his salary going to Southampton and then at least doubled it again moving to Liverpool.”

Harald’s pal, Ajer will never be in the same ballpark as van Dijk.

Once football is back, we’ll see how Kristoffer responds to the sort of pressure his agent has put him under. Unlike before, if he makes a mistake, he’ll be put under the microscope by the support.

If he wants to move elsewhere he will have to keep up a top run of form.
