Former Celtic midfielder and Sky Sports pundit, Kris Commons has laid into Ibrox player Ryan Kent as the player coasts on a couple of goals against Celtic.

Commons uses Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer to drive his point home and point out the stark contrast in what’s going on at both clubs.

“Celtic’s Kris Ajer has scored more goals since the turn of the year and he’s a centre-half.” Commons told SunSport.

“Kent is bringing nothing to the table at the moment. For a winger to be playing for a club like Rangers and have no assists at this stage of the season is a pitiful return.

“Kent has played 1,404 minutes of league football this season for his six goals.

“Leigh Griffiths also has half-a-dozen Premiership goals but has done it in pretty much half the time (773 minutes).”

Kent scored a cracker against Celtic at Parkhead during their win in December. Steven Gerrard’s men played above themselves that day and Celtic players looked dead on their feet.

Fast forward to the end of February and he and his teammates have struggled to kick a ball while Celtic have charged ahead.

When you also consider Celtic’s £7m signing (another centre-back) has scored seven goals to Kent’s six, there’s just a huge disparity between how some in the media rate Kent and what he actually delivers.

Celtic put their head down since the winter break and have shut down any noise which was sweeping through from the usual suspects.

Paying £7m for a man who won nothing in his first season at the club is just outstanding banter. Did a great gun celebration though!
