Celtic were comprehensively beat over two legs by Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Conference League. Ange Postecoglou named a weakened side for the second leg and they performed as many expected.

As we lick our wounds and get ready for the games ahead on the domestic front, I’d be astonished if Celtic hadn’t scribbled the name Ola Solbakken onto a piece of paper to hand to the scouting department.

Ola was a standout man in the tie and put the Celtic defence to the sword during both legs.

BODO/Glimt Celebrate at Celtic Park

The Bodo star’s movement, passing ability and eye for a goal are all traits we want in a winger. From what I’ve watched of the player over the past two games and from the deep dive on Wyscout, he’s perfect for Ange ball.

We already have Liel Abada on the right with James Forrest as a backup at this point. James’ performances and influence is diminishing within the squad as of late and we have to have a succession plan.

Ola, 23, could be a perfect player to slot in and become competition for Abada straight off the bat. TransferMarkt have the winger priced at a little under £2m for what that’s worth.

Bodo would more than likely want a bit more cash for the player, however, the player’s deal is up at the end of this year. More often than not, clubs do have an extra year option on their players – we’ve reached out to see what we can find.

If Ola hasn’t at least made some sort of Celtic scouting list after these two games, someone isn’t doing their job correctly.
