CELTIC announced the home leg of the Europa League play-off tie will take place on August 22 after the bhoys blew their Champions League ambition.

The club confirmed today the game would take place on that date and many fans have commented that the club should give this game as a bonus on the season ticket and we’re not against that idea at all.

Having only had the Sarajevo game covered by our season tickets – Celtic fans had to fork out good money for Kalju and Cluj in the next two rounds. With the complete and utter capitulation of Tuesday night maybe it’s time for the club to extend an olive branch once the tie is set in stone.

We are unsure if there would be anything stopping Celtic from doing so. We haven’t found any UEFA regulations to this point which would stop this from happening.

The likelihood of it happening though is slim. We have 52k season ticket holders and to milk half of them for money to turn up on the night might be too hard to resist given we’ve thrown away millions by missing out on the Champions League again.
