Emotions were running high at Celtic Park today as fans and staff said their goodbyes to one of their most decorated and iconic figures that is Billy McNeill.
A lot of people commented that the best tribute that could be paid to their old captain was a good performance and win. The Bhoys certainly started off well and played some nice football in the final third but still lacked that killer instinct from around the Kilmarnock box.
If you are wondering how you praise someone worryingly, think of your goalkeeper. Scott Bain had to make three saves in five minutes to keep Celtic on level terms. In the first attempt, Chris Burke was through one and one with the keeper and looked destined to score only for Bain to pull off a save. The shot-stopper was called into action twice more within the next five minutes, that got some Celtic fans singing Scott’s praises.
It’s gonna be the Scott Bain show today #CelticFC #CELKIL

This is so poor again from Celtic. 3 good saves from Bain in last 5 mins keeping it at 0-0

Celtic are really making hard work of finishing this season off. Something seems to have gone missing in the final third the last few weeks for the Bhoys, thankfully Scott Bain has been rock solid between the sticks. The Celts will need to come out for the second half and match the determination that Kilmarnock has shown in the first half.
