CELTIC have been given an astonishing UEFA Champions League reprieve after Legia Warsaw fielded an ineligible player with THREE minutes to go in the game at Murrayfield.
News came through on Thursday night that UEFA were investigating the claim that Bartosz Bereszyński was not eligible to take to the field at any point during that game.
This has proved to be a massive own goal by the Legia club who now drop into the Europa League now instead of Celtic.
Legia outplayed Celtic in both ties and while Celtic fans will be delighted to be through we are human enough to admit it is harsh on the Polish side.
Celtic have gained from clubs fielding inelligble players before after FC Sion fielded 6 in a Europa League qualifier 4 years back.
With not long until the play off Celtic must seize this opportunity and invest in their frail squad.
Legia have appealed this decision but Celtic confident it will stand.
The draw will be made this morning and here are our potential opponents.
Malmo, Aalborg, Ludogorets, Maribor, Slovan Bratislava
