NEIL LENNON has confirmed this evening that Celtic have NOT been in contact over a move from Sergio Quintero after claims this morning from the player himself said a move to Celtic was on the cards.

Speaking after the 3-1 win against Sarajevo in Bosnia, the Irishman fielded questions on more recruitment and when Quintero’s name popped up he was none the wiser.

“That’s names not cropped up at all, he’s not popped up on the radar.” He told BBC Sportsound as cited by RecordSport.

“We’re looking at a number of positions and hopefully we’ll get some business done sooner rather than later because the priority at the minute is to negotiate these qualifiers.

“The more quality we have, the better chance we’ve got.”

Quintero is currently playing in Ecuador looking for a move to Europe. Could he be making mischief to try and get his name out there or is Neil Lennon’s summer intern Nick Hammond making moves for players while Neil gets on with the task at hand.

We’ll find out sooner rather than later.

Celtic can be content this evening that the team is in a great place heading into next weeks second leg against Sarajevo.

Three away goals and a two goal cushion means it should be a formality for Lennon’s men. Anybody who does get brought into the club between now and then will NOT be eligible to play in that game.
