Celtic took full pleasure in all but ending their rivals’ season with a deserved 1-0 win in the Scottish Cup semi finals this afternoon.

Jota headed home just before half time to put the Bhoys in front with the Portuguese’s name remaining the only one on the scoresheet throughout the 90 minutes.

After the game, there was a wealth of jubilant scenes and one banner that appeared in the Celtic end post match was particularly eye catching.

The banner, which read ’10, 20, 30, 40, 50 And More – 114 Trophies – And Soon To Be More’, was making a clever dig at the Hoops’ trophy count and how it is rapidly creeping up to that of their Glasgow rivals.

The Rangers’ trophy count (old and newco) stands at 117. The Bhoys are currently at 114 and will make it to 116 should they win the league and cup in the coming weeks.

This will then put them at level pegging with their city rivals meaning they would just be one trophy away from surpassing the Ibrox club and taking away one of their solitary bargaining tools.

All Hoops fans will be hoping this will be the case in the near future and it likely will be if things keep going the way they are.
