Ralph Hasenhuttl seemed bullish when asked about his loan player at Celtic this week.

The Southampton boss was asked to comment on Moi Elyounoussi’s form and goals in both Europe and Scottish cup semi-final and if Moi would get his chance at Southampton next term.

I am very happy for [Elyounoussi] that he scored and I am happy to see it. And, definitely, the player has a chance to maybe come back in and to be a part of the team, maybe next year.” Hassenhuttl told SunSport.

We had two ‘maybes’ in that quote from the Southampton boss.

Obviously he doesn’t want to come out and say Moi isn’t in his plans as it devalues the player but if you’re Celtic and have a desire to keep Moi in the summer, you should feel encouraged.

Southampton let the midfielder back out on loan for another season without much hesitation and don’t look like they have plans for the Norwegian.

A lot can change between now and the end of the season but you have to be encouraged by Southampton’s perceived lack of interest.
