SOUTHAMPTON haven’t been shy when it comes to bidding on talent from Celtic. They have signed Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk from the club very recently and know how much they can benefit from signing Celtic players.

It seems the St Mary’s side are sniffing around again and this time it’s for Scottish midfielder Stuart Armstrong.

The talented midfielder who excelled under Rodgers last season is yet to sign a contract extension with the Scottish champions which runs out next summer and that fact hasn’t been lost on some English Premier clubs.

Celtic are working flat out to make sure the invincible treble winner stays with Celtic for the longterm. Contract talks have been going on since before the Scottish cup final which is making some fans a little anxious the player might be looking at his options which Armstrong is perfectly entitled to do.

The manager is still confident that Stuart will ultimately sign a new deal.
