According to reports in today’s Daily Record (Yes, take that with a pinch of salt), Sevilla have apparently entered the race to sign Dedryk Boyata.

The player was subject of a large bid from Fulham just before the English window closed but Celtic rejected it as they had not sourced cover for the Belgian.

With a year left to go on Dedryk’s contract, it stands to reason clubs will be interested in him – especially after his World Cup appearances. However, Rodgers is determined to keep his man but if they could source a defender then it could be curtains for the big defender’s Celtic career.

Dedryk has not hidden the fact he wants to move on at some point, preferably to the Premier League but that can’t happen now until at least January.

Could he be convinced to move to La Liga? Or will Celtic manage to sign the 27-year-old up on a brand new deal.
