Real Valladolid is reportedly preparing to increase their offer for Jakub Kaluzinski, the Polish midfielder currently playing for Antalyaspor, amidst interest from Celtic.

Although the Scottish Premiership champions have been tracking the 21-year-old for over a year, their focus appears to have shifted towards securing Paulo Bernardo from Benfica on a permanent basis.

With a £3.5 million deal for Bernardo nearing completion, Celtic’s pursuit of Kaluzinski may be on hold. You’d imagine if Celtic do get a deal for the Portuguese over the line, their interest in Kaluzinski would cool.

With Celtic focused on other midfield targets, Valladolid are pushing to strike a deal. The La Liga club had an initial bid of €2.5 million turned down by Antalyaspor, who are holding out for a fee closer to €4 million. According to reports from Sporx, Valladolid is set to make a renewed effort to sign the midfielder.

Celtic will be in the market for midfielders this summer, even if Paulo Bernardo pens a future in Glasgow. The future of Matt O’Riley is in doubt and Celtic may have to replace their star player in the coming weeks.

  1. Let’s get real, we are spending nothing. As long as lawwell is in charge then that will always be the case. Celtic are there to make a profit for him and his cronies and most definitely a football team a long way 2nd. I won’t be paying for another set of tickets to watch us get humped in the CL.
