The bhoys at the Manhattan Celtic Supporters club paid tribute to Celtic’s greatest ever captain in a big way this weekend!

The crew at Jack Dempsey’s bar went above and beyond to deliver their own tribute to Billy as we all mourn his passing.

The outpouring of emotion has been extraordinary and to see the iconic image of Billy McNeill lifting the European Cup over his head in the heart of New York is another great reminder of how far reaching his legacy has become.

The HomeBhoys posted the image below.

Celtic held a 67 second applause for Billy before Saturday’s win against Kilmarnock. The bhoys also wore black armbands with the number five on them. The game would take the most remarkable of turns when it would be number five Jozo Simunovic heading the winning goal into the back of the net on the 67th minute – fairytale stuff.

Celtic will again honour their captain during the Scottish Cup final by wearing the number five on their shorts.

Billy’s funeral takes place on Friday and the cortege will pass by Celtic Park for Billy’s final call.
