We watched Scotland qualify for the playoffs on Friday evening but one performance had us pining after one of our former players.

Kieran Tierney was sensational for his country on the night against Moldova and the clip below epitomises the defender.

How he manages to get to the ball is incredible.

Watching Kieran playing for Scotland is a reminder of how good a player we had before selling him for a record fee.

We’re over two years down the road and we’ve yet to properly replace the academy star.

We’ve had Boli Bolingoli, Greg Taylor, Diego Laxalt and Adam Montgomery has played there also since Kieran left the club.

Taylor seems to be the preferred choice and while he’s a steady player, he is not in the same league as Kieran Tierney. It was always going to be difficult to replace Kieran, but two years down the line, it feels like we’re still trying to find our way.

While we can’t afford that type of player, there has to be options out there who would be a better fit.
