MOTHERWELL star Liam Donnelly has spoken about the link which surfaced this week about Celtic potentially making a move for him.

The player was asked about the rumour which never seemed to have any substance and he basically confirmed that to SunSport.

“I saw the links with Celtic, but they are just rumours. I don’t think there is too much in it.

“It’s flattering. It’s nice when you are linked with other teams. It shows you are doing all right and performing well.

“But I am fully focused on Motherwell and I need to keep trying to perform.”

Liam confirming he had heard nothing from the club or his agent about any possible move. The rumour originated on BelfastLive this week but you can chalk that publication up as not having any clue about what’s happening at Celtic.

Since that article, other sites ran it verbatim but we questioned the validity of the rumour.

It appears it was the right thing to do with Donnelly confirming nothing has been happening.

The window has a week to go now and Celtic have two in the door with more than a few outs between permanent deals and loan moves. We wait to see if Celtic have anything up their sleeve for the last few days before the window slams shut.
