CELTIC thumped St Johnstone on the final matchday before the split commences. Results elsewhere mean that Celtic know the opponents they will play in the coming weeks regardless of Sunday’s outcome.

Hibs lost to Hearts, while a late Motherwell equaliser denied Livingston top six and secured it for themselves. A comeback from Dundee saw them pick up a point against Dundee United and Ross County beat Aberdeen 1-0.

The result of Saturday’s games means that Celtic will face The Rangers, Hearts, Dundee United, Ross County, and Motherwell in the season’s final five games.

Celtic will likely play three games at home and travel to Dundee and Dingwall. The SPFL will release details of these fixtures in the coming days.

The incredibly tight table has been great to watch and change throughout the weeks. However, it does show why the split may not be the best idea, especially when the tenth place is just five points behind the fourth.
