Celtic’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, recently expressed high praise for his counterpart at St. Mirren, Stephen Robinson.

Robinson, a Northern Irishman, has done an exceptional job this season in Paisley. His team, the Buddies, has made it to the top six and is now eyeing European aspirations.

In a pre-match press conference for the upcoming Saturday game, Robinson reflected on the compliments he received from Postecoglou.

He stated, “From Ange, who has had a fantastic season, to be complimentary like that was humbling, to be honest. To even be in the same company as some of the people at the dinners is completely humbling too. But it speaks more for our work as a whole as a football club rather than me as an individual.” This quote was reported by the Daily Record.

Postecoglou’s respect and admiration within Scottish football is evident. Managers of opposing clubs are often surprised and overwhelmed when they receive praise from him.

Postecoglou is as revered within the game as he is outside of it.

This Saturday, despite feeling ‘humbled’ by the praise, Robinson will be aiming to defeat his counterpart at Celtic Park to secure three crucial points. However, the chances of this happening are relatively low. The Bhoys are looking to finish off the season in style before their date with destiny at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final.
