CELTIC take on St Mirren on what feels like a rare 3pm Saturday kick off and breaking news this afternoon means the Buddies will be without their manager for the trip to Celtic Park. [SunSport]
Former Academy Celt and Saints boss Jim Goodwin has tested positive for Covid and will now isolate as a result.
It’s a sharp reminder that the virus has not gone away and we must all be on our guard. There are still protocols in place at football stadiums to protect footballers from potentially contracting the virus. However, as the country has opened up and people go about their day to day lives, more people are going to get it.
Luckily the vaccine seems to be significantly weakening the link between the virus and hospitalisation.
We wish Jim all the best and hope he is not experiencing the harsher symptoms.
For Celtic, they have to make sure they’re ready for the game and gain a measure of revenge on the Paisley side after they were beaten at Celtic Park back in January.
We wish Jim all the best, but will the St Mirren team and staff do a self test before the 3 pm kick off to make sure others are safer from from potentially contracting the virus?…
I would think that a test would be mandatory before they leave for the game.
