CARL STARFELT has been ruled out for Celtic’s trip to Germany midweek, with the manager confirming that the defender is still a few weeks away from recovering from the injury he picked up against The Rangers.

It comes as Carter-Vickers is set to miss the weekend’s match against Motherwell, with midweek being touch and go for the American.

There are a few injury concerns amongst the squad at the moment, with a hectic schedule ahead which will see Celtic play nine games in October, the squad is about to be tested to its fullest.

The Celtic manager confirmed to CeltsAreHere.com at the pre-match press conference Starfelt’s timeframe.

“Carl is obviously still out, he’ll probably still be a couple of weeks.”

It’s a worry that Postecoglou could be forced to play his third and fourth choice centre-halves on Wednesday, against a team that are great on the attack.

However, the manager brought Jenz in during the summer to strengthen the back line, while ensuring Stephen Welsh stayed at Celtic, knocking back some bids. Ange is obviously happy with the players he has, and won’t be making any excuses.
