CHARLIE ADAM believes former Celtic star Kieran Tierney could be subject to a high stakes bidding war after the Euros.

Tierney was injured last week for Arsenal but is expected to return in time for the international summer competition.

The Scottish full-back has been a revelation for Arsenal and has become one of their top players since leaving Celtic. Gunners fans love the bhoy and want him to stay as long as possible, just like Celtic fans did.

However, his departure from Celtic proved to me how much ambition this lad has and if a higher calibre of club come calling this summer, one who regularly competes for trophies, then Arsenal and Kieran will have a big decision to make.

Former Premier League midfielder Adams believes it’s only a matter of time.

“Would it surprise me if a Real Madrid, a Man City or any of the clubs in the top echelons come in for him in the summer?” Adams proclaimed to BBC Sportsound.

“I think he’s ready now. He’s 23, he signed for Arsenal injured and was out for a spell with groin and shoulders problems.

“But he’s come back and has matured into a top player. I believe he can go to the next level again. You’re starting at £50m too.”

Every time we write something on Kieran we get a deluge of disgruntled Arsenal fans telling us to ‘get over it’. We are certainly over the player moving on from his boyhood club, but they’re delusional if they think Arsenal is his ultimate destination.

The London club are not the side they used to be and look nowhere near ready to challenge for the Premier League.

For Celtic, they have a sell-on clause so any transfer would see Parkhead coffers be boosted.
