The team is up and Odsonne Edouard is in the starting XI. This time last year you wouldn’t have batted an eyelid, this season, it’s a different kettle of fish.

I’ve been a proponent of Neil Lennon continuing to play the French striker in the hope that one game will turn his fortunes.

The striker hasn’t been at it this season, he’s missing opportunities he would have buried before and he looks out of sorts at times.

For me, he has to keep playing, especially if it doesn’t hinder Leigh Griffiths progress and journey to get fully match sharp.

We know what Eddy is capable of and so does our manager. He’s a game changer on his day, he’s just lost his way.

Elsewhere, Soro keeping his space is good news and shows a willingness to go with new, fresher players.

It’s not going to be a pretty game, the weather is horrible and we’re on a synthetic surface. Three points is all that matters.

The team: Celtic team v Accies: Hazard, Taylor, Bitton, Griffiths, Soro, Turnbull, Christie, Edouard, Frimpong, Ajer, McGregor

Subs:

Barkas, Duffy, Brown, Ajeti, Klimala, Rogic, Johnston, Elyounoussi, Laxalt

  1. Never mind the pitch and the weather-injury depleted Accies are there for the taking. Need to be hitting these teams for 4, 5 or 6. If Eddy would have crack at goal instead of trying to dribble past half the opposition team it would help
