Stephen Welsh was missing from the matchday squad against Ross County on Saturday, with Ange Postecoglou turning to Moritz Jenz to start at the back in the highlands.

Starfelt also returned to the squad after he trained all of last week, recovering from an injury he picked up while with the Swedish national team.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed to BBC Sportsound that Stephen Welsh was ‘ill’, and it’s nothing serious keeping the defender out of the match.

Celtic fans can breathe a sigh of relief after a few supporters turned back to Toulouse’s reported interest in the player. After training yesterday and the manager confirming he had a fully fit squad, with the exception of Hatate, anxieties within the Celtic support rose that the young star could be on his way out of Parkhead.

Massive Moritz Jenz Chance

With Welsh to be back in contention for Celtic’s trip to Killie, and Starfelt pushing for game time after his injury, Moritz Jenz will be looking to blow Ange Postecoglou away today to keep his place in the Celtic squad.

There’s a lot of competition for places in the Celtic squad, with players needing to constantly be on their A-game to be in a chance for selection.
