STEVEN GERRARD has dropped the bombshell that he doesn’t know if his side will give Celtic a guard of honour on Sunday when the newly crowned SPFL champions come to town.

Chris Sutton brought the issue back up on social media on Saturday afternoon once the bhoys had beaten Aberdeen 3-0 to retain their title. However, apart from being mischief making it would appear as if Gerrard will seriously be asking his employers if they should give the Hoops a guard of honour.

When the question was put to Gerrard after the Hibs game he said: “I don’t know – I haven’t spoken to the club about it.”

We hope Ibrox media spinster James Traynor isn’t wolfing down a packet of monster munch when he’s asked as he would be likely to choke.

The Rangers have given Hearts a guard of honour in recent times and it was one of their own players James Tavernier who praised the sportsmanship of Alloa Athletic for giving the Ibrox club a guard of honour when they were in the lower leagues.

Stevie and Tav should push this one through.

  1. They meant ‘Roll of Honour’ Slippy. Whether they do or not. Its the hun choice. Not as Celtic want a tri-colour flying from the Death star main stand.
