STEVEN GERRARD has actually made an honest and refreshing admission ahead of next season after the hysteria surrounding his side’s win against Celtic on Sunday.

If you dabbled in hypberbole then you would think the Ibrox club had already stopped ten in a row and that Celtic were finished.

However, Steven Gerrard made the very pertinent point that Celtic are only going to get stronger next season and the challenge for him is to try and not only match them but surpass them.

There’s plenty of people out there who think the Ibrox club will steamroll this tired Celtic side but it won’t be the case and the former Liverpool man knows it.

He is probably the only man at Ibrox who has shown some sense of perspective after the win with many of his players going way overboard considering they remain trophyless for another season.

Celtic have to improve, there’s no doubt about that and any board members in denial about Celtic’s position before the Glasgow Derby now have nothing to hide behind.

It will be an interesting summer.
