Ec-Celt and SkySports pundit, DAVIE PROVAN is weighing into the issue of Rangers appealing their player bans for breaking strict covid rules and the law when they attended an illegal party.

It was over two months ago and it took the SFA so much time to actually hold this club and these players to account in the first place but now the appeal, which is completely egregious, is being held back even longer.

This means the Ibrox club are free to play in of these guys in the game against Celtic.

While there’s nobody Celtic should really fear in those group of players, it’s a massive leap from how Celtic and Boli Bolingoli were dealt with at the start of the season.

I think Davie Provan is the first man to actually ridicule Steven Gerrard for his moronic comments. It speaks to our lapdog media who would rather drop Gerrard’s quotes into the mix without challenging any of it.

To say a player shouldn’t be punished so much because they are talented is one of the most bizarre things I’ve heard in a season that has lent itself to some ridiculous situations.

Speaking to SunSport, Provan said:

“IF a hamstring strain kept Nathan Patterson out for four weeks, would it affect his career? Hardly.

So what is Steven Gerrard on about claiming the youngster’s four-game ban for a Covid breach would damage his career?

He says: “This kid is going to go and play for Scotland and the SFA want to ban him for that long.”

Is Gerrard saying bans should only apply to lower-league scufflers?

He’s lucky he wasn’t managing Rangers when Duncan Ferguson spent 44 days in the clink for headbutting Raith Rovers’ Jock McStay. The SFA threw in a 12-game ban for good measure.

Patterson got off lightly.

Celtic are heading to Ibrox on Saturday unless the fixture is moved. At the moment, the SFA have no plans to expedite the frivolous appeal and are allowing our rivals to take advantage of the system.

A straight bare faced girfuy to Celtic, and they don’t care who sees it.
The fact we’re meeting the hun so early in this competition really says it all. It unheard of. It’s in yer face FU!
Slippy ‘in talks’ withe the sfa to see when it suits for any suspension bro take place, that is of course unless they decide that he’s the second coming of Johan Cruyff and gets me punishment at all!

    What a joke!
