IBROX staffers must be breathing a sigh of relief after finding out Leigh Griffiths won’t be near the pitch on Sunday after having to triple their efforts to keep the Celtic striker away from their goal posts.

Leigh has made a habit of conquering grounds both here and in Ireland over his time at Celtic.

The iconic image of Leigh tying a Celtic scarf to the Ibrox goal post still enrages them to this day. So much so, after Celtic’s last victory they put extra stewards on the post to ensure Leigh couldn’t get near them – the very notion this was spoken about and implemented tickles Celtic fans. I wonder if they got a bonus.

They should have perhaps stuck the stewards on the goal posts to prevent Leigh from scoring.

It will be up to Moussa Dembele to get back among the goals at Ibrox this weekend. The Frenchman is no stranger to a goal against the pretenders from Govan.

  1. If Celtic play with two up front Dembele and Edward it could be a cricket score especially if tavernier and whoever is left back don’t cover the Celtic wingers and play the same way as they did against Falkirk .
