It’s no big secret now that Celtic won’t be signing John Guidetti at the end of the season. A fact that earlier this season may have upset Celtic fans just a little bit more. However, now there are many that will quite happily see John leave in the summer after his loan, his high wage demands and not performing to early season promise the reasons why.

John has been flirting with other clubs via the media since the turn of the year and he made no secret he would love to head back to Feynenoord, a place where he spent a season on-loan 3 years ago. Feyenoord scouted the player last month and have now reportedly made an offer to the players representatives.
Celts Are Here

The Swede is out of contract this summer and is free to talk to any club now as he looks to end his Man City career. Feyenoord are firm favourites to sign the player on a permanent basis and are reportedly ready to meet his wage demands.

A spokeseman for the Dutch club had this to say:

“We want the best squad and if that’s possible with Guidetti, it’d be nice. It’s definitely an option. We’ll do all we can to make it happen.”

When the striker had his fine run of form at the start of the season, Celtic fans and the manager was clamarouing to sign the player up as quickly as possible, but John’s hesitancy along with the high wage demands that don’t fit into Celtic’s strict wage structure will see him move on.

John has gave us some special goals and moments, the late equaliser against Inter being the highlight for many. But Leigh Griffith’s resurgence has left him on the bench more often than not. Wherever he ends up we wish the player the best.

Should Celtic make one last offer to the player?
