TIMOTHY WEAH has made it known just what his new gaffer expects from him coming into the club for the second half of the season.

But Weah also revealed a secret meeting at Lennoxtown had taken place back in 2018 where Brendan Rodgers took him around the training facilities and spoke to him and his representatives about what he thought about the young forward; ultimately convincing him to make the move.

After that day, Weah was sure Celtic was the right call to come out on-loan.

The PSG frontman joined on a six-month loan deal which will see him play some part in Celtic’s quest for eight-in-a-row. For anyone unsure of where the American is going to fit in, the manager has made it clear for the player.

“We had a meeting when I came to visit the stadium and the training ground.” he told Record Sport.

“The coach told me he just wants to see me playing my game, helping the team by making runs into spaces and stretching the game.

“He’s looking to play me as a nine and I can’t wait. I’m so excited to be here. I feel like the coach has a great plan for me and I think he’ll help me develop as a man.

Weah will come in and help take some of the pressure off former PSG man Odsonne Edouard who has been carrying the can upfront himself for quite some time.

Celtic’s injury crisis got so bad they went to Ibrox without a recognised striker.

Timothy is a welcome addition to the side, and we can’t wait to see what he can do.
