The transfer window might be closed, but Nicky Hammond and his team are already planning for the future.
Celtic wanted a left-back on the final day of the window, and they landed Diego Laxalt on loan from Milan.
Over and above that, they were not closed to the idea of bringing in another centre-back, but it was obviously not a priority.
The Scottish champions have been linked with a move for American defender Mark McKenzie, and last night the player posted a ‘patience’ post on social media.
Patience patience patience… ⏳

This prompted some Celtic fans to reply to the player, but he was giving nothing away.
One Celtic supporter on social media quizzed Sky Sports Anthony Joseph on a potential Celtic deal, and he confirmed the club are still very keen on the 21-year-old centre-back.
The club should be able to land a work permit for McKenzie who made his USA international debut back in February.
Not moving to Europe in this window. Celtic interest remains strong and they'll continue to monitor his situation.

Celtic managed to keep all their prized assets in this window, but over the next two or three windows, most Celtic fans expect major upheaval when it comes to their squad. Next summer could see a lot of first-team players leave; it’s all about building for the future, and perhaps McKenzie is part of the future rebuild.
