STV man Ronnie Charters has poured cold water over the suggestion Victor Wanyama could be on his way back to Celtic before tonight’s midnight deadline.

Wanyama looked all set to head to Belgium with Brugge but that deal staled leaving the midfielder in no-mans land.

With the Premier League window already closed, the player has diminished options in the search of first-team football.

A mix of online rumours and wishful thinking have Celtic fans dreaming of the midfield enforcer returning for a second spell.

However, Charters has made it clear on his social media that doesn’t appear to be the case and Victor will not be making his way back to Glasgow.

Celtic are still looking to get deals done before the clock strikes 12. The Craig Bellamy and Robbie Keane deals famously materialised after 5pm on deadline day so there’s always hope. If you’re a Celtic fan on days like these you do tend to get hyped up and then nothing much happens.
