• Ange Postecoglou has a good idea about his core squad.
  • Celtic ran out 4-2 winners against Dundee on Sunday afternoon.
  • A number of Celtic players couldn’t make the bench despite injuries to key personnel.

Celtic still don’t have depth of quality in the right areas. We have too many squad players who Ange clearly doesn’t trust. Some of them have gotten game time over the course of the season so far simply because of major injury call offs.

The bhoys were great against Dundee on Sunday. The only disappointment was two sloppy goals were lost to the home side, flattering them just a bit.

One major takeaway from the game is who made the bench for Ange Postecoglou.

BAIN, SCALES, GIAKOUMAKIS, McCARTHY,
JOHNSTON, FORREST, MONTGOMERY

There was no room for Boli Bolingoli, Vasilis Barkas, Ajeti or Soro. Obviously Ange can only name seven subs; leaving these four out in the cold.

The bigger picture though, for these four, is we still have Rogic, Taylor, Jullien and Starfelt to return, pushing them further down the pecking order.

If we go a step further and assume Ange will bring in at least two or three bodies in the next window, there’s no room for these bhoys at Parkhead anymore.

It’s highly probable Celtic will be looking to move all four players on in the January window, whether that be a loan or permanent move.

None of them have really cut the mustard at the club and could free up space in the squad and wage bill for Ange’s rebuild to continue.

  1. I agree but there could be a few more dead clear outs.we defend like children we must attack ball and front and back posts must be covered we need one 6.5 plus defender and a LH and RH at the side of him, never let any player get in front as the ball comes over make sure you are in front and attack the ball the keeper when he comes out must punch the ball and clear the area out of all in front of him keepers always get the free kicks…
