KIERAN TIERNEY suffered a knee injury last month for Arsenal that was predicted to keep him out for the rest of this season and call into question his status for the Euros.

It was around a month ago when Mikel Arteta pretty much confirmed he didn’t expect the former Celtic defender to be back this season – and he hasn’t been seen since. [The Guardian]

Tonight, Arsenal need to overturn their first leg defeat to Villareal and they have home advantage to get it done.

Kieran might see some action in the game but this might be a sign he’ll be back ready for Arsenal’s next EPL tie.

If Arsenal negotiate their way to the Europa League final this evening – the wee man has a great chance of starting the final and becoming a Europa League winner which would be sensational.

Two of Keiran’s biggest footballing idols are bobo Balde and Henrik Larsson – two men who helped Celtic on an amazing run in the competition when it was the UEFA Cup.

It’s also great news for Scotland he’s back in the fold already.
